MedXPress is the official FAA Online Database for Entering Medical History in advance of the formal Aviation Medical Exam
The FAA MedXPress system allows anyone requiring an FAA Medical Certificate or Student Pilot Medical Certificate to electronically complete the FAA Form 8500-8. Information entered into their MedXPress will be transmitted to the FAA and will be available for Dr. Freitas to review at the time of your medical examination.
NOTE: A medical examination by Dr. Freitas, an FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), is required to complete the certification process.
Once your actual history is saved, you have 60 days to review it with Dr. Freitas in conjunction with an Aviation Medical Exam or it will be removed from the FAA electronic database, and you will have to repeat the process from scratch.
Your medical application is assigned an 8 -12 digit number that appears at the bottom of the completed printed form and will also be sent to your e-mail by the FAA. You MUST bring this number with you at the time of your scheduled examination. Failure to do so will require your examination to be re-scheduled.
